how often does your car get cleaned?

just given mine a quick clean (10mins on a small hatch just outside) and made me think....
my friends think im obsesive because i clean mine every weekend but i just like it clean most of the time and 1 week is plenty of time for it to get noticabley dirty
i just use a soft brush and running hose pipe and it does a quick decent job with no scratches
so
how long do you spend cleaning it
how often do you clean it,
do you pay someone else to do it,
do you put it through one of the automatic machine washers,
do you use one of the many hand cleaning car washes poping up are they any good?
i know not the most exiting of topics but iv seen alot worse on here (key detailing)

Well as im just after turning 17 and havn't been able to get insured on my Puma yet.
I just brought it out of the garage for a clean, been there since last March.

Mine usuallly gets done every other tuesday afternoon, when im off college and if the weathers anywhere near decent.
Dont spend that long on it. Throw the hose over it, then a bucket of hot water and Turtle wax Zip wash with a tesco value sponge. 10-15 minuite job. Then finally tesco's finest glass wipes on the windows job done. Other times depending on the state of the interior I will clean all that out and give it a hoover as well.

Proper clean every week. Throughout the summer can be 2/3 times a week and a 4 hour clean every fortnight. Throughout the winter I use my local hand car wash guys as they are very careful and do a lot of 'pride and joy' and 'marque' cars. The 4x4 whenever it gets really dirty. The Jag once a week too.
I've cleaned mine twice in the four years I've had it. Once when I first got it to give it a good coating of wax, and once after I'd had the front end resprayed, for the same reason. I probably wont clean it again.
I don't think putting an Elise through an automated car wash would be a good idea.

When I owned a car I cared about, it was weekly inside and out, with full detailing a couple of times a year, or more if I was attending shows etc.

About one every 2 weeks or so. The inside gets cleaned about once a month. It takes me about 45 minutes to give it a good clean outside, with shampoo and wheel cleaner and then a wash down with a hose. I also treat the roof with a vinyl care product. I really should hand dry it too, I'll have to next time. I just left it to dry in the sun this week and it looked like it hadn't been washed at all!
