E34 M5 Ronin

Just watched the car chase yet again.

What a car that M5 is great change of direction and composure, glorious I6 singing great understated looks.

Is this the car one should buy over an E39 M5? Last of the I6 genuine 170mph car and cost what ...£5k tops for a stunner. Where do I sign up?

Or is the E28 M5 better still?

£2.5k a year isn't bad especially as depreciation would be nil - I'm assuming buy a good one and it's depreciation free if not appreciating

Easily fixed with a set of staggered BBS splits from an 8-series.

I've mentioned this before on here but there's a guy who's friends with the PH team who has an E34 M5 which has service history totalling around £100k. I met him on the PH Renualtsport day and was talking to him about it.

I watched that film when it came out in the cinema and I remember watching it thinking wow I want an M5! (when I can afford one). I did eventually get an E34 M5 but when I watched the film again recently (ie after owning one) I was pretty sure that car in the film was not an M5, maybe a 535. Dont have any screen shots just remember watching it thinking the bumpers, wheels, badges and exhaust were wrong.

Fabulous car, but now a liability for anything that isn't an ultra low mileage garage queen.

Some of the static and low speed shots were filmed using the real deal. The damage shots and the final crash were filmed using a 535i.

Only the later 3.8, not the 3.6 in the film, and its now 900 + vat per corner
