Decent kit

Fellow PH'ers, I'm ashamed to say I bought a cheap trolley jack on ebay which was manufacturered let's say not in Europe and which was absolute toilet, shearing off the hydraulic piston at the first sign of a load.

Can anyone recommend a decent 2t trolley jack please?!

Lidl/Aldi/Netto often do keenly priced trolley jacks, which all tend to be TUV and/or GS approved, so should stand up well to regular use.

Might be work keeping an eye on their special offers.

Recently purchased a jack from Costco. £70 iirc. Lifts from 9cm to 50cm. Strong design yet made from aluminum. Made in China which slightly put me off but the jack in question has a good track record with others who have purchased one.

It might not be necessary to say it but I will anyway: for god sake use axle stands.

Nothing to add but

I've used cheap trolley jacks many times and never had a failure yet *touches wood* but I've heard of two failing recently on PH, glad I always put wood, axlestands and other items under a car long before I go near it!!

I've also used cheap trolly jacks without any big problems, the current one was £15!!! and has been abused for 10 years! it wont last for ever, and the seals leak a little now so it will go down very slowly if you leave it on the jack, but thats what axel stands are for!
