Rather strangley for me who trusts next to no one with my regular maintenance I had the pleasure of being in both National tyres and Kwik fit today.
9am oil and filter change at NT. Booked 4 days ago via the online team as their website was broken. They open at 8:30 but wouldn't book me in for first thing. arrived to find the place devoid of any customers what so ever. Three blokes stood about playing with their tackle in their pockets, no cars in the joint and none in the car park waiting to be worked on. So I pulled into the garage in front of the ramp to make it easier and head into the office. Hi I'm booked in for 9am. Park your cat on the car park please, we will get it on the ramp in the next 10 minutes. Come back in an hour. Err its empty and it only takes 15 minutes to do a change on that as I can do it in that without a 4 post ...... An hour sir and if we have to take the undertray off it will be an extra tenner. No your don't as there is a flap specially for oil changes.....
Hour later car ready, money taken with no enthusiasm or feeling that I'm a valued customer at all. Considering I go through 3-4 oil changes a year its not a bad coin for them and if they treat me well I wl think of them come tyre time.
So, 1pm time for winter tyres to be swapped for summers @ KF, bought from them in dec with the promise they) would swap them back free in march.
Hi! You back for those winters changing then? Yes thanks. Chuck me the key and either take a seat for 30 min or if you want a walk in the sun there a nice park behind the garage. Thanks I'll have a wander then. Came back , car ready, winters in the boot with plastic wrapping to stop them dirtying the carpet (despite me bringing the summers down with no protection at all. ). Thanks mate, no worries, see you in about october for them putting back on.
No money changing hands yet I felt like id been properly looked after.

OH took her Mini into the dealer to have the winters taken off yesterday. As with your experience, the job was done foc as promised when the wheels & tyres were bought (and the summers stored for us), plus the car was given a wash as well while they were at it. Say what you like about Minis, but I for one can't fault their after sale service.
