for the first time in ages.....

I went for a drive for the sake of just having some fun! was great fun and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Also saw some quite nice metal while i was out including a 997 GT3!

with petrol prices being rather high, and me being where i am, i've not needed to use the car at all recently and today was a pretty nice day and just though...sod it. grabbed the car keys, went to the petrol station, put in £50 and off i went to brecon beacons. just a few pics i took....(yes, i know, they're crap )




and some tarmac...



just thought i'd share ended up doing almost 100 miles!

A4059 from hirwaun to nant-ddu tis a good one,quite wide an open so plenty of overtaking places if needs be, though it's usually relatively quiet. also went down the A4017 which is a blinder!

made me realise just how fun it is going for a hoon again! loved it! the look on some peoples' faces taking a nigh on 30 year old car to a few hundred rpm within its redline is quite funny!

Yea thats a very good road. When you go out again if you go further north go onto thhe b4520 up to builth wells along the a483 then back down the b4519 that will loop back onto the b4520 really good road up there and a very quiet road for some

been on those roads a few times and are really fantastic. didn't fancy going that far north today, but usually include the B4520 on my route!

Nice car.. I passed one on the A1M on Friday afternoon about half 3 near Hatfield, with black/silver plates...Y reg i thought?

Anyway, guy looked looked chilled cruising along the inside line. I passed at about 2-3 mph quicker..also just cruising in my silver E39.

a Y reg one would have (i think) been the last plate of production, mine is an "X" which is 1982. there may be a few old A reg ones but i can't remember. there ain't too many of 'em knocking around these days! what colour was it? lots of the people on the E21 forums are from around that area.



edit - andi_p - one i do prefer to that road is the A4069, but it's quite a trek out from where i am. one of the best roads i've ever driven.
