Audi DLRs and indicators

An new Audi was driving behind me today. When he turned his indicators on the DLR on the side the indicator was on seemed to dim. Is this correct or was I seeing things?

Yes, they dim for indicating as to not blind the orange light then resume normal brightness afterwards.
