Hi everyone I hope someone can help? I am buying my daughter a car for her 18th & want to look for something in as low an insurance group as possible but that is not too boring. (groups 1-3)
I was buying her a mini one (group5) until I found out that her insurance would jump to £4.5k a year when she passes her test (1.6k as a learner)
I only have a total of around £5k to spend including insurance & hopefully she will have passed by the time she's 18 in October.
I have tried several google searches but to no avail any help will be appreciated (Citroën C2 a possible but I've always hated French cars)

Thanks
Howard.

Of the cheap to insure (genuine group 1) cars the best by far is a Fiat Panda 1.1, feels like it ought to be group 5, but its unpopular with chavssmile

that list is helpful. The areas it does not cover are the existing road vehicles. Land Rover Series types and old minis are 1 & 2. It depends if you are close by to help with repairs on an older vehicle. Old Beetle? Morris Minor, Traveller?
