Describing your home town in the way you did is hardly likely to act as an enticement either.

Out of interest - I thought 'proms' were held in the USA? Whatever happened to getting your shirt signed, getting pissed at 'the rec' on cider and then fingering the girl you snogged on the dancefloor outside the end of term disco at the youth club. Bloody Americans - no class whatsoever.

Yep, it's a stupid American trend with all the tacky trimmings attached. Why not just call it a party and avoid looking like an arse by not turning up in a supercar you don't own?

All that went out the window. Kids now think its posher to get dressed up in a suit, get drunk and then finger some ugly bird who they fancied all year.

Still think a hire company is the best bet. If it means that much to show up in exotica, rather than the horrible limos that should be servicing hen parties, then it's probably worth a few searches.

This! I do find it a bit cringe worthy seeing akwardly dressed spotty teens arriving in crappy limos, not sure at what point the UK decided to follow suit in this silly tradition. I was quite happy setting fire to my schoolshirt on the last day and going home at 10am.

Unless he can find specialist supercar chauffeur companies, he will probably have to get his dad to rent one. I think you'd probably be looking at over a grand for a days hire and an excess of about £5000 should he clip a kerb on the way into the venue...

At mine we have a Prom. And a leavers meal. They are both optional (except my form tutor is making us all go)

We had a leavers' ball, but we made sure standards were maintained - Black tie, 5 course meal etc.
In fact the info leaflet that arrived with the invitations specifically stated that anyone arriving in an elongated limousine (or equivalent) would be denied entry.

Whilst I think stretched Limo's are the realm of the easily pleased, and 'girls nights out', did they really deny entry to someone who turned up in one? Sounds a little authoritarian, and petty.
