Best way to do a radiator hose repair?

Top hose has a leak, did a temp repair which wasnt good enough. The hole is no bigger than the tip of a drawing pin, but because it's under pressure, it spurts out when the engine revs.

Need to temp repair to run and drive it for a short time to test some other things before i get a new hose.

Someone suggested some strong duct tape. My temp repair was using some insulation tape but obviously with the heat this is now becoming weak.

sorry chap, but from experience that tape no workey. you will end up buying a new hose I'm afraid.

Cut hose at split/hole, insert copper/metal pipe of similar internal diameter, two jubilee clips, job done.

I did a repair with the two-part repair tape on my MX5 that lasted a good few months before I eventually got around to buying a new hose. It's not a permanent solution, but it's more than good enough to keep you going for a good while as long as it's applied right.

This, but if its only the size of a drawing pin then what about putting a bolt through the hole with two big washers on and tightning it up pretty tight?
No idea if it would work, but maybe worth a try?

if happy with a bodge, try a bike puncture repair kit, nowt to lose
