Mate's boss parked up the scaffolding truck today and was minding his own business.

Luckily there was no passenger in the Astra...

That would have been nasty if there was someone in the passenger side.

How did the driver actually manage to crash, i know the truck is quite a wide vehicle, but its not as if they came around a blind corner and could not see the truck until too late.

Any sort of damage to the truck??

Car driver may or my not have been faffing with his phone. Ploughed straight into it.

Bed of truck was bent. Can see in pic 1 that the lower bar is well distorted too.

I think he means he was sat stationary and got hit by the Astra

That looks like the driver didn't even try to take any avoiding action or slow down - wheels straight, no signs of emergency braking, just ploughed straight on into it. Must have had their attention elsewhere I think.

Also clearly not an area that collision tests anticipate

Good to see the Astra driver is a blood donor. Good job he didn't have a passenger or he'd need an organ donor sticker too.

The driver must have just seriously mis-judged that "overtake".

Jesus that's fking dreadful. Looking at it he must have been texting or something. The driver should be locked up for that. I suppose at least his insurance is unlikely to pay out.
