What is the cheapest car that has a PD130 engine?

Title says it all, they come in Golfs, Fabias, Boras, Passats, Seats and all sorts, which derivative is the cheapest to buy?

Certainly used to - the Mk 1 L&K did. The way to check is if it has a 6 speed gearbox.

Not necessarily... A lot of the PD115 engines carry 6 speed boxes in them...

I would say the Cordoba is the cheapest on the market...

Bora or a Toledo, perhaps a B5 Passat with moon miles. Fabia and Golf hold their value much better.

PD115 also have the 6 speed box and similar badging, so it's best to check the data sticker - should read 96kW.

I'd say a Golf as there are so many of them out there

Our's has been great apart anything thats has an electrical switch or a suspension joint on the end of it.

Played this exact game before I bought my current car. Answer in my experience was a Bora or Toledo; marginally more expensive but a better drive and marginally more economical is a 2002-2003 Ibiza 'Sport'. Octavias do exist in PD130 form but 'rocking horse st' comes to mind.

From my experience the Leon tdi se was the cheapest when SWMBO decided she had to have a VAG diesel (god knows why but I didn't argue, not a bad car as it turned out).

I don't think there were that many Octavias with the PD130. Plenty of Superbs though...

Bora is a nice enough motor. We've still got one on the fleet (PD130, Sport trim), 9 years and 93k of pool-car use and it's still tight as a drum, and still returns close to 50mpg.

It's just so incredibly boring to drive.
