Extended warranty on a 2008 A4?

My Dad's A4, bought new in March 2008, has just run out of manufacturers warranty.
The dealer called today asking if he wanted to take out an extra years cover for £480 which he is a bit sceptical about seeing as there are no problems at all with the car.
The car is a 2008 A4 Avant 3.0 TDI V6 Quattro S Line 6 speed manual, and the only thing it has needed was a broken spring fixed for it's MOT a month or so ago - but that can be out down to the crap roads here. The car has around 40k miles on it, and a full service history.
Question is, does the extended warranty seem worth it? Are there any major problems that can go wrong with these cars when they are 3-4 years old? I have driven it several times, and it feels exactly the same as it did when it came out of the factory. The clutch is sharp, and the "biting point" is low on the pedal travel.
Like any modern diesel, I assume there will be the threat of turbo, clutch, flywheel, and EGR failure, but I would have thought that would have been a long way off?
Anyone have any thoughts on this matter? Any help would be much appreciated.

I extended the warranty on my VW Touareg last year, and have just picked it up from the dealer this afternoon after avoiding a £1200 repair on the 'intake flap motors'. It is the 3.0 TDi, so a similar engine.... it will only take 1 fault to recover the cost of the warranty extension.
