New Car Advice

Been asked countless times but here goes...

Looking to spend around £7000 on a car, here's the criteria:

- Not more than 5 years old (06 plate)
- Can pick one up with less than 50k miles on.
- Not bothered if it's a diesel or petrol.
- Easy to put a baby seat into.
- Quite quick...(as in sub-10 seconds (Astra is 9.4))
- Around group 10 insurance.

I'm very interested in a 56 plate Astra 1.8VVT SRI XP, which I can get for £6000, anything similar?

Anything fit this criteria?

2006 Golf 1.4 TSI 140 Sport? Think it meets all those requirements quite nicely. Better car than a Astra.

I've actually wanted a ST for a while now, but the insurance basically rapes me :/ Unless there's an insurance company that would insure an under 21, for cheap?

Then again, I'll be 21 next August, so I guess I could stick it until then


Type R insurance is way too much for me at the moment...

Not too keen on Hondas anyway, seem to have a bad reputation around here for the boy racers.

Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI VRS, and depending on which one you find there may be enough change left over for a nice little extra remap.
