A shame to go so young - the way he built the company and especially it's brand would be of envy to many I'm sure.

Isn't it Eddie's son Edward, who has died? However he had no involvement in the day to day running of Eddie Stobart.

I thought It had been going for decades. I though the Original Eddie was a LOT older, if not already dead. I think this one is his son, who turned it in to the massive company it is today.

Sad news.

Edward used to drink in my local now and again when I was living in Carlisle. He was a decent bloke, just like any regular bloke in the street.

received an e-mail about this earlier. RIP indeed. William took over in 2003 but Edward still had a hand in makeing the company as well known as it is today.
