Now, I'm not interested in seeing each of your monthly disposable income, but more how far you go to working out how much stuff will cost, recording your cars performance (mpg etc), maintenance status/service schedule, upcoming jobs etc.
I've got a spreadsheet I use to keep track of money spent on fuel, mods, etc and wondered if I was alone or not.
I imagine some will respond with "I couldn't bear looking!" but would be interested in how others record the outgoings on your vehicle(s).
Anybody like to share??

Would rather not know though for either of my cars listed and the S3 is missing a LOAD of stuff that was spent on it.

I keep a spreadsheet for each of our (2) cars to record all car expenditure. Also keep a running calculation of mpg since bought and for each 3 month period.I've got a spreadsheet I use to keep track of money spent on fuel, mods, etc and wondered if I was alone or not.

The best course of action is to bury your head in the sand. Especially when it comes to sports cars because if you tracked the costs of maintenance and general upkeep you'd feel very, very silly.
My RX-8 gets me 14 mpg on average, and despite only doing 250 miles a month costs around £100 in fuel. This is before you factor in depreciation which, as it stands, will have dropped a whopping minimum £2k on a car that cost £6k last April. Servicing isn't too cheap either when you consider that the plugs/leads/coils all need doing every 30,000 miles or 3 years. Tax is reasonable as are standard consumables, but whatever it needs I just pay it and forget about it. It really makes no sense dwelling on it, otherwise you'd never use the car.

Money is tight, so I'm always extremely tight with petrol. I always put the exact amount (rounded up to the nearest £1) based on my cars worst mpg figure. the petrol station is just around the corner from me.So I'd rather just top up £6 then filling up £50 of petrol and having it just sit there for a week or so before payday.

(im not your 'average' pistonhead millionaire either).I dont budget, although after a few shocker 100 quid fill ups I do sometimes have bouts of economy driving. I find the limited miles I drive means I only need to fill up every 4 weeks, so thata only 25quid a week, nil depreciation, then just repairs/maintence which last FY about 500.
