Hi,
Currently looking at omega's as a daily, and I keep coming across examples stating welded diff's?
Can someone explain this one too me? Does it just lock the 2 wheels together, basically a poor man's slippy diff, only to be used if drifting? If so, surely this simply wouldn't work in a road car? Or am I missing something totally?

Well not really, but in regards to the car you would want to use not as a drift bbasically a poor man's slippy diff
h - walk away
Spend £400 on a LSD or chuck a garage £40 to weld it up..
The main difference is, a LSD requires slip before it engages. A locked diff doesn't.

This is what I thought. So to wrap up, its every bit as stupid an idea on a road car as I thought.
Is it illegal to drive a car with this modification? Parking must be virtually impossible...
Piece of cake, you get the odd chirp from the tyres but that's about it from my experience. You soon get used to the initial lurch. Illegal? Nope.Is it illegal to drive a car with this modification? Parking must be virtually impossible...
