And a vehicle with a limiter is also prevent for using the outside lane on a 3+ M way and the MLM will quite happily sit there blocking all. I am not inclined to be a bully so I pull over and leave that to the wagons then overtake. Bad thing to do I know.I do see a lot of police on my travels, I wonder how high on the list of misdemeanours this is. I suspect it is not high and not seen as an issue? People seem to remember when they come across the police idling along at 60.

I find myself undertaking a lot while towing....try to make it never an obvious undertake - I just happen to be going faster in my lane, hopefully plod wouldn't take too dim a view.One of my workmates is a terrible middle-laner. He just can't help himself! I have been in a van with him before and he'll join the motorway and immediately move from a completely empty lane 1 into a jam packed lane two and just sit there. ARRRGH!
I've questioned him about it before but he claims that if something happens, he's got space either side of him. "Er, isn't that what the hard shoulder is for?" I asked.
He didn't reply, and continued to sit there.
It's pure ignorance and laziness, and the trafpol. really should clamp down on it. It would free up so much space on the motorway, but people in general are too short-sighted to see it.

That reminds me of something that happened a few years ago.I was driving along the M56 on my way to work when I came across a Transit sat in the outside lane. It was one of those sporty ones, blue with a white stripe all the way over the van. Nice exhaust pipes too. It was very well sign-written with a private plate to match the business name. After sitting behind it for a minute or two and realising it wasn't going to move over, my passenger sent a text to the number on the back of the van saying "Nice van, great plate, poor lane discipline!".
A reply was received back in a few seconds saying "I'm the owner, and passenger, and agree."

From the general standards I see on almost every journey I'm suprised it doesn't take you a whole shift to go one junction!In your check-list what's the order of importance you ascribe to traffic offences?
For example - MLM is, obviously, less bad than tailgating...

Good to hear.Out of interest what approach do you take with them when stopped (how do you make what must be a slightly idiotic driver realise what they are doing is "bad") and what is the reaction / excuse in general?

Just out of interest, what are the most common excuses or 'reasons' given by the offender for being an MLM?And.... demographically, who is most likely to be an MLN?
And can I just say thanks for doing a job that I suspect some officers may not see as being worth bothering with!

I think its been getting worse since the fuel price rises...the M4 is chock full of MLM's and i have undertaken almost daily since the clocks changed!
