A wise person I knew once said to me "never trust anyone who wears a hat in a car".

I think they were spot on, the old man in a trilby or the woman with a wide hat, also the yoof with its cap on back to front, even in glorious colour the most modern plonker who wears a black teacosy just showing its ear rings and normally in an Audi or Beemer.
All these breeds will carve you up or slow you down.

I wear my beanie/condom hat whilst driving as I have the window down a lot, and stops my hair blowing into my eyes and crashing into a bus stop full of droopy eyed armless children.

I should probably make sure I get up extra early now and make sure I have perfect hair, so I'm never seen in a hat in my car ever again...

Maybe insurance companies need to do a new question "do you wear a hat while driving?"

Interestingly enough, I do feel a much less observant and careful driver when I wear my trilby. Not!

I wear one of those teacosy hats. And drive a BMW. Its because I broke my heating and I have no hair so my head gets cold.

Sometimes I wear a flat cap.

+1, I'm a hat hater, but it's much easier to drive roof down with a cap. When the sun is high in the sky, sunglasses just don't keep the light out of your eyes. I take it off as soon as I get out though.
