SMART repairs - whats your experiences of them been?

A few weeks ago someone reversed into our car at my wife's work, leaving a few scratches and a bit of a bash (maybe 200mm square, by 20mm deep). The insurance company of the other driver are sending out a SMART repairer this afternoon to have a look, however I have my doubts about how good a repair they will do, given the damage.
As I understand it, when metal is bashed like in this case it will stretch slightly, and never really go back to the original shape. TO make it worse in this case the bash is on the rear wheelarch / side panel of a MKII TT, and has a risen edge where the arch starts.
Have any of you had similar repairs carried out by a SMART repairer, was the end result any good and is it possible to patch up pearlescent paint in this way to a good enough standard for it not to be noticable?

Are you sure they're sending out a SMART repairer? IIRC there's no pure SMART repair network acting directly for insurers. More likely the insurer uses a repair group such as NCRC, who have both traditional repair facilities and mobile. The mobile visit is then used to triage the damage and send it to the right repair stream.
As always, it's your choice where your vehicle is repaired, and the insurer is responsible for the reasonable costs of the repair.
