My car insurance is due next week on my 330i msport and the best quote i've got so far is £500, a cool £100 more than last year!!!

Is it me or are there others out there who are in the same boat?

I didn't realise that when you turn 31 that you become a higher risk. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Rant over

I think everyone is in the same boat now. £500 doesn't seem bad compared to most

There was a thread exactly like this, closed just yesterday.

This thread happens daily at the moment.

Having read all these threads I was not looking forward to my renewal which came in today. Last year £297, this year £244, same car. Includes NC protection and legal protection. Only change in circumstances are myself and the car are a year older. Puzzled, but will not be complaining.

I wouldn't complain about a £500 insurance quote, even at 31.
I'm 24, cheapest quote I can get on a fiesta, tpft, 2years NCB is £1700.Up from £1400 the previous year. Excuse? 'well sir, it's gone up across the board'.
London prices. frown
Even with a 2K focus, or peasant spec astra, its over 2grand. Ridiculous.

An insurance sticky has been suggested, I don't think it's a bad idea to be honest.

We must have hundreds by now. Thoughts?

It'd be easier to keep it all in one place, but i'm not sure how much attention people would pay to it.

I'd say yes and a ruthless hardline to be taken with new ones popping up. I'll happily do an FAQ & answers type document if someone can turn it into a wiki or such like.

postcode seems to be a major pisser, I'm in BB which has been hit by the insurace scam so minne went up 50% fo no accidents or anything.

BTW, 42 in a derv honda estate family at > 500 quid is fking stupid.

Agree ^ ^

As is fairly common knowledge insurance companies have their knee pads well & truly velcro'd on this year!
As disheartening as it is to read one post after another post on a single thread will be repeato repeato...unfortunately!

Just become a list to add ones name once one has had his/her 'official' confirmation of next in line for a wallet & bottom fraping!

Anyone heard or noticed that fuel is actually quite expensive right now too..!! wink

Next time you meet someone who got a 4 figure sum for whiplash after a 5mph shunt, be sure to "thank" them for the current prices

Sorry but the constant insurance threads are getting boring. Its expensive, get over it. Everyone is in the same boat. I had to pay an utterly ridiculous figure too but just have to put up with it as there is no alternative.

I think a sticky thread would be a good idea as its getting very tedious now, a bit like the winter tyres....

My renewal is £888 on a 1.8 civic and I'm 27, in a good postcode with a clean record. Insurance this year is a joke.
