fuel line clip removal

Hi All,

Should have taken a photo I know but I will try and describe. The return fuel line out of the pressure regulator is attached by a hard plastic push on clip. It has a red plastic ring at the bottom that rotates is turned but doesn't seem to do anything else, yet I can't remove the fuel line from the regulator beacuse of this clip and can't work out how to undo it. I am sure it must be something to do with this red band either push or pull but don't want to put too much pressure on it and break it if that's not it. Any ideas? Can't even find one on the internet as an example. sorry.

On my last car the low-pressure fuel lines were clamped to the fuel pump by a horseshoe shaped clip that pushed in to release. Maybe yours does something similar?

Yeah, sounds like a john-guest style fitting, push in and pull the pipe out at the same time...

I think you need to get a small screw driver or hook/pick and pull the red tab out which should release the pipe
