Rare find or Jap scrap?

Hi,

I have been doing some work for an old lady. In her garage is sitting a mint 26 year old Daihatsu Charade Turbo which has covered the grand total of 40k miles, it seems the only thing wrong with it is a hole in the exhaust. She doesn't use the car any more and seems to want to get shut of it, I like it but i'm not quite sure why!

It looks mint but didn't get it out in proper daylight. Totally original down to retro stereo with big knobs on. What would it be worth?

This is what I had in mind but don't know what it's worth. It is just the Turbo model not the Gtti, not really looking to fleece an old lady either.

Oh yes, there's a few quid to be made here, or fix it up and use it, they are a brilliant little car, I'd be doing a quick fix up, get it mint then advertise it for silly money, someone will bite

Is it a Turbo or is it a GTti?

Turbo - 4 doors
GTti - 3 doors

If its a GTti resale will be much easier, especially if it is in good condition body wise.

Edit: Scratch that. 26 years old. It'll be a G11 Turbo. 993cc Single Cam Carbed Turbo.

:/ This must be quite a good weapon of choice for newish drivers? Cant imagine insurance being too much on it, and the turbo would give it a bit of a poke?
