Awesome value as a daily or ruinous?

For £5k that's a metric fkton of car. If you can afford the fuel, then that's a winner.

I am very tempted... It is just for me the wrong side of 'throw it away if it breaks' on the cost front...

Plus I don't know it is almost suspiciously good money, I must be getting exponentially more cynical the closer I get to 40!

Apart from the truly heinous rear lights, it'd be worth a look at least.

My concern would be the write up eluding to the accident repair. If it was done to any remotely acceptable standard then they'd not mention it. Expect the front of it to be a heady mix of:

Tin foil
Rattle can paint applied in a dusty corn field
Chewing gum to bond structural parts together
Crunched up newspaper under 6 inches of filler

If you can live with that, then fill your boots.

A different perspective perhaps, 5K is a chunk of cash to write off if it decides to VBRJ your wallet. Perhaps look for something cheaper in the 1 to 2K bracket, which is" write-offable" and you may even get something back as scrap if the worst happens.

Which is in fairness where I sit now and have done for a while... I have the 95 which is great but now up to 160k and things are rattling and it keeps saying "Coolent Low"... tbh it is not far from dead... But it stands me at £500 and I have had 50k out of it...

My self imposed limit on "throw away" is about £3k tops as long as I can get 30k plus out of it so a year..

E38 I love them and I know a peach can be had for circa £3k and in fairness that was what I was looking for when I saw this..

A lot of car for £5k, but one major problem could end up costing more than the car is worth. Re-sale could be tricky too.

It says in ad " RECORDED DAMAGED/REPAIRED IN 2008" so I would defo assume it is a C/D!
