I was a fan of the Austin Maestro Diesel & actrually had a 1.6L Maroon/peach coloured one with brown interior plastic (free car).

Body rusted away, engine though was a strong unit overall.... wouldnt touch one again

I bought an Austin Landcrab from Blackbush auctions for £30 a few years ago. It was pale brown and incredibly comfy.

They always struck me as a car that with a bit more effort could have been a contender. As a kid my next-door neighbour bought one new in purple with a black vinyl roof. Six months later the car had developed a matt finish and a host of electric and mechanical problems. Didn't stop him buying a metallic lime green Ambassador.
