As I'm thinking of getting one as mine isn't all that inspiring to drive and needs a bit more grunt.
I'm thinking of a bluefin but wondered who has what and how is it ?

A Richter one through VW will retain your warranty so could be worth a look. I tried an Ed 30 with one and I dare say it was scary quick. A perfect match for the chassis actually too so the stock GTI would be a hoot.

I Revo are the VAG remap gurus, I wouldn't go bluefin personally as it isn't a live map and can cause excessive wear/ strain on parts.

Boss's wife has a Mk5 Edition 30 with a Revo map and it is a really good improvement, pulls strong right upto the Redline and generally hasn't affected the driveability just gives that extra bit of punch.
I think she had a 34bhp and 49ftlb increase.

Depends where you are based obviously, but I'd highly recommend a custom remap from the guys at 'APS' in brackley.

I let those guys deal with my R32 whilst I had it, and they have a very good reputation in the VAG community.

I seriously looked into one of these with a remap.

As an alternative, the remap that impressed me the most was Morego's - it had good press reviews too. It compared very well against others in a roundup IIRC. I liked the fact that they apparently had an engine on a dyno (out the car) to get what they wanted, as well as offered variable throttle maps and don't use excessivly high boost levels.

Sorry if it sounds like I work for them - just a headsup that's all. Just bear in mind not to take figures too seriously, and go for a company who knows what they are doing (Revo, Custom Code, APR, etc are all huge in the VAG community).
