bmw's auction

a mate of mine reckons 55 plate 330ci convertibles are going for 5.5k at auction, and apparently their not cat d or c's, and they are coming from bmw them selves because their too old to sell on their forecourts? is he pulling my leg? its really annoying because he says it now when ive just paid alot more then that for a 02 plate

almost 7k for a 02 330ci sport convertible 72k, but fully loaded all the paperwork from a garage provided with 6 month warranty

Would you not be pissed if your 30k motor was worth 20% of it's price in 7 years , that's on par with a rx8 and nothing depreciates like that .

A 06 reg e46 convert at my local dealership jus last summer, think it was up for 16 k lol

Some French stuff is worse than that - but yes I'd find it extremely hard to believe a BMW would drop like that, sounds like a typical bloke down the pub conversation to me

If it's true there may be something else to the cars, ex police or other fleet that buys poverty spec and thrashes them.

Just took a look on the BCA Trade site and there are 9 330Ci Convertibles for sale from 02 - 04. Nice cars tend to sell just on or over the CAP Average price - price range for the 9 cars for sale are: £4350 for an 02 in dark blue Auto with 93k miles to £8075 for an '04 330Ci Sport Auto with 46k miles. Of course the buyers fee would be on top of the sale price.

Important not to forget this, you'd be looking at £360 in buyers fees on a £5000 car plus the £25 logbook charge and any storage fees.

I bought my 330Ci '03 with 42k on the clock for 7.8k last December. Fully loaded too (pro sat nav, leather, sunroof etc.) and had been well maintained. This was from a good independent dealer in north london. So it isnt a convertible but still a good price... .. you are not alone!

Surely 5.5k isnt even trade price? Seems to be a catch somewhere. Hmm but you never know.

Recent sales at manheim suggest £5500 is too low

330 CI SE 2DR CONVERTIBLE Man 2005 05 78k miles £6,900

hey guys it seems my stupid mate made a mistake, the ones going for 5.5k where se models with fairly high mileages lol, i knew there was something fishy about it. im really releived because i felt like ive been mugged off in regards to my recent purchase. also ive checked a few auction sites and a guide price isnt shown, but some cars claim to have no logbooks, which i'd definately not be tempted to buy.
