Hello guys

I'm from Switzerland and a reader of your forum for quite some time!

I'm a complet Porsche lover and have a car sitting at the London Porsche Dealership waiting for pick up.

And that is the reason why I have started this topic.

I'm a swiss resident and my porsche dealer tells me that I need to have a UK insurance who covers me at the day of the export registration with the DVLA.

Please if there is somebody familiar with car insurance and can help me, any hint is appreciated.

Porsche tells me I need to register the car at DVLA for export purposes (I think this has something to do with tax reasons, but nobody told me this in the beginning when I ordered my car 2 years ago!)

The car wont drive on UK roads as my transport guy will pick up the car with a truck! There is no risk involved, because I have as well a transport insurance who covers everything!

what I need is the following:

-temporary car insurance for 1 day with only coverage of third party risks!

what I have:

-International insurance card with the full coverage from my swiss insurance company, (this insurance is also valid in the UK (I don't get why DVLA don't accept this!)

PROBLEM:

I'm swiss resident and all the UK insurances I have called won't cover me because I'm not a UK resident!

Please if somebody has a friend who works in insurance and could get me a cover note only for third party risks for 1 day that would be perfect.

Please help me I'm completely lost.

I can assure you there is no risk involved because no driving with the car, the insurance is only the get the car a physical second registred.
