Just got back in from a lovely drive out. No destination, just a spirited drive, with the windows down and enjoying the sun. Let the car tick itself cool upon arriving home, and now treating it to a coat of Autoglym after a good wash.

The joys of Pistonheadism! Anybody else out there relishing the opportunity for a good thrash?

We were driving back to York from Preston, could have taken the motorway but instead headed for the Yorkshire dales and burnt some rubber, roof down. Quiet roads and fish and chips with Dandelion and Burdock in Hawes. Best of all the sun had his hat on, a good day.

I took the VX out for a little play earlier - didn't really do much apart from enjoy having the roof down and give it a little squirt on the A3. Pleasant afternoon.

Saw a lot of nice metal on the way back to Bristol too, couple of 911s and Astons, saw nearly the entire Ferrari range and a few other tasty toys. Everybody was out to play today, it seems.

I went out for a run earlier and had a play in a disused car park, good times.

We took the Chimaera and the Boxster out for a quick blat round our local 'circuit' today. Roof off/down on both, roar of V8 versus the growl of the flat 6, low down torque versus higher revviness, German engineering versus British bloody-mindedness.

Went out in the Minis today over from Carlisle to Alston and back to Hexham. Stopped off to take a few photos. Also noticed a few classics around, some nice Triumph TR's and MG's.

Went out for a quick roof down run in an Mx-5 earlier, it's a long, long time since I've been in a car with it's roof down, it was a lot noisier than I remember but nowhere near as cold as it was last time, in an E36 M3 convertible, in winter at the age of about 8 years old!

Quick blat over to my old man's in the Puma, then followed him in the Tuscan back to mine, via some great b-roads.
Not exactly David and Goliath stuff... ;-) The speed of that thing when viewed from another car is almost as impressive as when you are in it. Makes my car seem as if it isn't moving, and I know those roads very well.
What better way to spend a sunny afternoon?

Yep I went out with no planned destination, ended up near Leominster before coming back home (Wolverhampton).

Went out without a destination, ended up having an ice cream sat on the edge of Padstow harbour. Lovely weather, lovely harbour and lovely roads!

Took the CBR1000RR out yesterday evening, great ride. Today i was busy with DIY so no going out to play.

I've dreamt of having days like the one I just had.....Out in the car, country roads, roof down with my 11 year old daughter by my side blasting out all her favourite tracks on her i-pod and singing along in the sunshine. Happy days

twice in the last 2 days and today took the back roads to our destination for a nice family day out.

Most sunny journeys now i take the longer back route. It has bee a long cold/wet grey winter. Now i am making up for it.

I had a nice 'figure of 8' shaped blast round in the MX5 with the roof down this afternoon. Great stuff.

Took the roof off, windows down and went for a proper blat after giving the car a clean. Was amazing!

Took the MINI on a 300 mile blast today, absolutely loved it, being a Petrolhead is just the best!

Took "the back way" (AKA ~30 miles of B and C-roads) home from TESCO instead of coming through Carlisle today
