Over the years there have been some cracking hot hatches. So vote for your favourites, ones you've owned or just ones you like. Multiselct is on so you can vote for more than one.

Apologies if your chosen hatch isn't on the list, but PH Polls are limited to 10 answers, and as you can see it was quite easy to fill up 10 options with ease.

For me it's a close call between the MkII Golf GTI and a 205/106. I voted for the 106 Rallye as for me it has almost the same amount of 'raw' that the Golf and 205 had but just edges it in the handling department. In the past I probably would have voted for the Type R but I think there's actually more fun to be had in something older.

Sorry but the Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs were totally different cars (the Mk2 was crap) and should be separate because people are loyal to either and shouldn't have to vote for both. It would fix the voting for a VW win.

Or Almera GTi. IMO all comes down to era. 80s - Golf GTi (original benchmark), 90s - Clio Williams (performance, handling), 00s - Civic Type-R (last of the breed before turbo cars took over, c.200PS from N/A engine, sophisticated suspension).
