Putting a Cat-C back on the road

Hi all,
I'm thinking of looking at a bike this week. It's been a cat C write off but it seems straight enough now and has a new MOT and the buyer's been honest about it. I was wondering what kind of paperwork it should have. Does it need to have something in the logbook, an inspection, a certificate of roadworthyness? As I said, it has a new MOT, is it safe to assume that everything's now in order?
I'm aware of course that it'll be worth less come re-sale time.

A VIC check is purely an identification check, no checks whatsoever on the road worthiness of the bike/car, it normally takes around 15 mins at most!Cat C is normally more substantially damaged than a Cat D.

Its only a Vehicle Identity Check, with the emphasis on identity. It has nothing to do with the standard of repair or road worthiness.I wouldn't be too worried about it - the retail price of bike bits new - especially body panels means a bike is "beyond economical repair" after a pretty low speed drop.
I bought a cat C Ducati from a salvage auction in Bedford a few years back & mine certainly was only panel damage. There was no extra paperwork to do, I just transferred the V5 into my name as normal and took it for an MOT once I'd replaced the panels, levers, indicators etc.
Lovely bike after that.
