Recommended auto electrician or main dealer- airbag fault?

My airbag module is faulty- but I have been to so many people saying different things.

These are the faults:

00532 Supply voltage signal too low, Intermittent.
65535 Control module defective. Static

Some say a used module, as long as it's the same part number should be fine. We tried that- it didn't work. It could be the wiring but all seems ok. Of course we're no experts!

I'm a bit worried at the thought of spending £350 + £70 on coding + labour on a new module and it changing nothing. But although more expensive, would a main dealer, on this occasion, be a better bet?

I should add that the dealer took the bulb out- it was checked and the LED wasn't there no more. 2nd hand clock confirmed this- I now have a light on.

Vehicle details might help and what type of kit are you using to read the codes?

It's a Polo. Kit is VAS- PC

Check earths and all other connections for loose or corroded terminals etc (including the fuses and holders)

I have, including lifting the carpets- all seems ok! It's utterly baffling.
