Repair/write-off question

My sister's car was hit from behind this morning while she was driving to work. The car probably hit her at about 20/25 mph on an approach road to a roundabout, the impact pushed her car onto the roadabout so not a small impact. Her car is only worth about £500 so do you reckon it's more likely that the car will be written off rather than repaired once the body shop has had a look at it?

Yep write off sadly IMO. Seems silly but the value won't warrant anything but the smallest of work.

If it was £500-worth pre-accident, then definitely.

Buy it back for £100, tie the back to a concrete lamppost and repeatedly drive away slowly until straight, and put £400 towards this year's summer holiday!

Make sure you buy it back, it will be easy for a backstreet garage to fix that and then get some more use out of it.
