Stuff for somebody new to cars

Hello all.
This is my first post on this forum and as somebody who is only recently getting into cars, (although I used to be car mad when I was a todd) I'd appreciate it if anybody could link us to some good stuff like books or interweb sites. Also , it'd be nice to see what cars people have and what would be a good first car for me to get when I do eventually reach seventeen, which is in about a year.

If you want to get an understanding for how cars work and the technology behind them then I find this a great site, a bit basic but great for quick explanation -

Obviously, if you just want to lust over cars in general the Pistonheads Classifieds will be a good area.
Brand or model specific forums other than Pistonheads Forums also have a lot of info specific to those cars and others that members may be working on and it can give you a real insight to the mechanics and construction of a car.
