Does this only happen to me in my lorry?
Discussion
A fair chunk of my job finds me piloting a 15 or 18 tonne rigid lorry around the highways and byways of our great land delivering kitchens and the like.
This obviously means I'm driving in urban environments and, being (I'd like to think) a courteous driver, I like to let other vehicles through when we meet at a "pinch point", for example where there are cars parked either side of a fairly narrow road.
I refer you, if I may, to diagram 1:

The big blue rectangle "A" is me in my lorry.
I am giving way to the smaller, orange rectangle "B"; an oncoming car. I have flashed them through. I am nice like that.
The purple rectangle "C" represents some dozy, impatient twonk who sees the lorry in front of them move over to the left and thinks "I'll get past".
This selfish, thoughtless action puts "B" and "C" into conflict in a restricted area and one of them (and it's never the purple one) has to reverse out to let the twunk get through.
I'm still waiting and let "B" through after "C" has gone, shrugging my shoulders and shaking my head in agreement with "B".
If I had a pound for every time I'd seen this happen, I'd have about twenty quid.
Is this just a lorry thing?

Not just you, I have had this a couple of times before whilst driving my car. People seem to think that you have pulled over in a stupid position to have a look at a map or make a phone call. They do not realise that you have observed and anticipated another road user and that you are using your brain to make the traffic and congestion flow better.

The stupid C can't see past your lorry because the C has been following too closely while at the same time not paying attention to anything.
Stupid C.
I see this happening so often with buses. Dozy people who drive right up the arse of a bus then get surprised when said bus stops at a bus stop, of all places.Stupid C.
This happens all the time when I'm in my car. I now switch on my offside indicator to make my intentions a bit more clear.
The thing that really pisses me off is when there is an obstacle on the other side of the road--not my side--and on-coming traffic doesn't give way but just carries on regardless, straddling the white line and forcing me to give way when my way is clear.
But hey, nobody is speeding or drink driving so they're all OK.

I've done something similar accidentally once. I came up behind a bloody great lorry sitting at the side of the road with all its lights out - I assumed it was parked and passed it... only to find that directly in front of the lorry where I couldn't see them was a set of temporary traffic lights which were red. Of course the car behind me had followed me so I had nowhere to go except through the red light.
I felt like a right idiot, but to this day I'm not sure how I was meant to know what to do.

Had that happen to me a few times. The last time C saw B, when B had already comitted to the move, but C continued anyway, causing B to emergency stop, as C slowly inches through the remaining gap hurling abuse at B.
Had one the other day where there's nothing parked/blocking my side, but B's lane is blocked. They pull out to overtake parked cars, into my lane, and hurl abuse at me for the near collision I ? have caused ?

I've had this; I pulled over into passing place on a long straight but narrow country lane to allow an oncoming car to get past, next thing some dozy plonker behind me passes me at speed only to realize the road ahead is blocked by the oncoming car, he got a round of applause from both of us for his ham fisted approach to driving. I'd say it's worse dealing with this in a lorry though with all it's blind spots etc.
You get it in other situations too, some drivers only see as far ahead as the rear bumper of the vehicle in-front. I get idiots storming up at speed in my rear view mirror with a WTF expression only to realize there is a very clear hazard ahead that I am slowing down for.

I think the fact that it's clearly a liveried-up delivery lorry probably adds to the problem - people expect me to pull over at short notice to make a delivery.Having said that, if I am pulling over to make a delivery, my nearside indicators will go on first, closely followed by the hazards.
So, in summary, no excuse.

Never understimate how oblivous most drivers are.
Sitting having a coffee this morning, I saw an ambulance coming up the road. Person two cars in front, indicates and pulls over....person one car infront overtakes and carries on, ignoring the ambulance behind.
Oblivious.
They're everywhere these blinkered fools - I had this happen to me whilst driving down the hill into Marlborough the other day. I see the ambulance coming, as do the 5 cars in front of me and the 5 behind so we all pull over and stop; idiot 6 cars behind thinks he'll just come past and only when passing me does he realise there's an Ambulance with lights & siren going just behind him.Sitting having a coffee this morning, I saw an ambulance coming up the road. Cue him diving into the open space in front of me - the pedestrian crossing! Looks in his mirror (bit late now fella!) to see me slow hand clapping and mouthing "you blind fecking t
