MOT test centre license

I am not if this is the right section but..

do test centres need to renew at a set frequency? what are the requirements to keep being a test centre?

What Jag said. not sure about the future right now with two year testing in the frame which will make it hard so think on.

the general concensus seems to be that if testing goes bi yearly it will mean many testing stations will close.

I booked my motorbike in for an MOT this weekend, and about 20 minutes later got a call from the garage explaining they couldn't do it. No problem I said, we can arrange it for another day. He then went on to tell me that it wasn't because they were busy, it was because his MOT testers certifcation had expired and had he been struck off. He therefore needed to get the mechanic on a refresher course before they could do the job.

So although testing stations may not need to be checked, it certainly appears that the testers need to undergo regular courses.

Every five years, did my refresher last week.
