What pickup?

It's going to be a second car and will do not a lot of miles. Idea is for towing, lobbing the bikes (+kids bikes) in the back and I have to get round round a few farms some weekends.

Been looking at Mitsubishi L200 and reckon I could get a decent 04/54 plate for under £5k, I don't want to spend a lot more. Bit worried about the Navara's reputution for broken engines.

Previously had an X plate imported L200 and it was a nightmare to sell and looking at the adverts they do seem to be sitting around a lot. Is the price likely to crash now the newer model's hitting the independant dealers?

Umm, clearly the obvious choice is a Hilux. But they hold their value well so it will have to be an old one.

The older L200's would fall apart under hard work, the new ones much less so. Hilux all the way in my opinion, but they are agricultural still.

Navara D40's are fine engine wise, it was the older ones that had issues.

they came out in mid 05 (my first one was a 55 plate), never had any issues with it, currently on my second one and about to change for a 3rd one.

if you can stretch to it, avoid poverty spec ones, the interiors do not seem to wear well (compared to the leather ones).

early ones are much better on fuel than later ones - like average ~37 vs. ~27Mpg.

Get a proper truck F150.

I've had a few and on LPG they make a lot of sense.

Bigger, faster and cheaper to run than a Navara.

2,3,5 and 6 seat versions and they come with a decent size back unlike all the European crew cabs.
