Removing Permanent Marker From Paintwork

Some junkie Trainspotting reject scum has drawn on a load of cars in the girlfriend's street last night.....Including mine.

Have managed to get a lot of it off with a bug/tar remover wipe, but its still there and visible.

Will T-Cut remove it or can anyone recommend anything else? (apart from hunting the filth down, giving them a slow painful death and save us the lifelong social security bill)

There's trick that works on wipeboards by covering the permanent marker in the wipe off marker pen and it takes the permanent with it when you wipe it off.

Not sure if it would work on cars, but might be worth a go on a small test area

Nail polish remover will get this straight off. Just dab it (don't pour it on!) and rinse the paint with water afterwards.

Have you got any 'tardis' cleaner? Some else on here managed to clean off fresh aerosol paint the next morning which they say was much quicker than using T-cut. It'll need a coat of polish/wax afterwards as the tardis will take that off too.

I should have known that, we do that on the whiteboards at work!

I'll try a red one at work on Monday if T-Cut doesnt work.... it might cover the scratches too

Probably something to do with the Ethanol in it?
I was going to suggest alcohol disinfectant wipes. Use them at work when O.Ts write on the whiteboard in permi marker.

Isopropyl alcohol or IPA, you can get it somewhere like Maplins as it can be used for cleaning electrical stuff. It'll shift it no sweat, also very good for removing oil off surfaces in the engine bay.
