And a tt is just a tt! The Focus looks far better IMO. The TT is super bland and ten-a-penny. The Focus looks different enough from a normal one to know it's something a bit special. I'm sure the TT interior in nicer but the Focus would make me smile more. Du1point8 said:

I don't believe people are comparing a TT with a Focus . . . strewth, what next, a Skoda or a Jaguar ?

Nonsense. Ridiculous badge snobbery based on nothing other than ignorance. A TT is basically an A3...? Made from the same parts. The Focus has been substantially altered in RS guise and has been universally praised by the motoring press as an extremely rapid and well developed car.At least the Audi (and I am not fan of Audi these days) is a better designed and built car, far more capable and better engineered.

I'd have the TT unless it was being bought with trackdays in mind. If you were to buy the Focus for trackdays remember to factor many tyre changes into your budget. It has a huge appetite for them!

Yip, large price difference, but performance wise they're much more closely matched. It doesn't surprise me at all that the Focus would munch tyres! No, it's not, unless you ignore fundamental stuff like the chassis.The A3 is made from steel, whereas most of the TT is made of aluminium (the only exception being the rear part of the floor).
TT MK.2 Chassis:
Red, blue,green are respectively cast, extruded and pressed aluminium (about 7/10ths in total, by weight). Grey is steel (about 3/10ths by weight)
