Hey Guys

Just bought the above for £450. Fully standard, 106k on the clock, full service history.

I'm planning a re map shortly but I am after ways to gain some extra BHP and acceleration of the lights.

I'm not looking for expensive, drastic measures but some simple easy ways to gain power.

Any ideas?

We have a 9000 CDE as the family barge.

We have a remap and a cat back exhaust so far.

standard manifolds are proven upto 500bhp.

remap
intake
exhaust
and then on to a bigger turbo and intercooler.... internals can take over 400bhp.

Have a look on uksaabs for t5suite-the ecu's are fairly easy to remap yourself with the right equipment. You may also need to add an apc, this is the saab boost controller. My memory isn't too good on this tho, uksaabs will have it all though. Cracking cars, i've had a couple of aeros.

Have a look in my profile, I used to have a 2.3 LPT remapped to 'Stage 1' which gave it around 235bhp, made it quite sprightly especially from 40-70 and beyond!

Yes Graham! - Welcome to Saab ownership.

Never has horse power been so cheap, especially with your very very nice starting point.

In my humble opinion this is the way you should get started;

1. Oil, Filter, Air Filter, plugs (these cars are really sensitive to the right plugs with right gaps btw), gearbox oil.

2. Drill air box - no power gains here but it'll make you smile.

3. 3" downpipe off the turbo. This'll make a big difference to the spool up. It will also allow for morw power later on.

4. Re-map, I'll get this sorted for you.

5. Get a piggyback re-anti roll bar.

6. Set fire to (or sell) those horrible TSW wheels and replace.

That should get you started for the meantime..
