Meet The Isis AM01: Tempted To Go Dutch?
Group C racer, meets track car, meets Subaru...
This odd beast is as strange as its looks. It's a new Dutch sports car called the Isis AM01, it's based on another Dutch sports car called the Saker (we were surprised there were two Dutch sports car makers other than Spyker and Donkervoort, too) and it's powered by a Subaru flat-four.
The car it's based on is actually a one-make racer that looks like a scaled-down Group C refugee and which has just started a one-make series in the UK for the first time this year, so it should be a pretty track-focused drive.
That 2.0-litre turbocharged boxer motor is apparently good for 272bhp and 258lb ft of torque. In combination with rear-wheel drive, a five-speed gearbox and a kerb weight of just 850kg, Isis claims a top speed of 162mph and a 0-62mph sprint of just 4.2secs.
Isis is asking quite a pretty penny for the car, however - £106k. Mind you, there's also a 396bhp 3.0-litre version (engine as-yet-unknown) in the offing which, at a projected £124k, seems quite reasonable in comparison...

Those figures look pretty close to the alfa 4c. Would be interested to see how it goes to whet the appetite further for the alfa when it arrives. And with the alfa possibly at £40k...
I have simply no idea how you can compare this to the Alfa. 2.5 times the cost. 0.1 times the looks. They have been phenomenally lazy with the "styling".

Oh come on !!!! They have AT LEAST changed the head/tail lights on a Saker...They have been phenomenally lazy with the "styling".
Other than that, I can't see a thing being changed from the car it's based on
