idle problems

hi guys having a wee problem with my bmw 323i coupe when i start the car from cold the car is great once heated up abit or touch the throttle the car then irractly idles goes up and down listening to the engine it sounds like its sucking air then dips then revs up again i did have a split in the pipe that goes to the throttle and another pipe from underneath meets it i have changed these two pipes with brand new ones but still have same problem , someone told me to disconnect the wire loom from airmass meter and see if it gets worse or better it was much worse so the mass meter appears to be fine can anyone else help
