My father is looking at the above car, I know it's not ideal but what are ford autos like? Is it a normal auto or cvt? Thanks

I had an '01 model & loved it. It's a regular auto with switchable overdrive & it gave me 3 years' trouble-free motoring.

ISTRC it is a conventional Mazda box?

It`s a Ford 4F27E box,jointly developed with Mazda.
Mazda`s version is actually different.

Bought one for the girlfriend was perfect cheap motoring for 2 yrs
The 1.6 auto is a bit slow and feels quite low geared but fine for what it is

Thanks for the replys, it's only a 2nd car to leave at his flat in Spain. Needs an Auto because he doesn't really like driving manual and left hand drive.
