Pre 2002 4x4s and Vans, London Low Emission Zone

Is it just me who hasn't heard of this soon to be enforced legislation? I don't own a van so granted, I don't exactly keep up with the news on such matters but would have expected something like this to be a bit more widely publicised...

TfL website says that as of 3rd January 2012 any Commercial and Private Vans, minibuses and most importantly 4x4 light utility vehicle weighing more than 1.2 tons unladen will be subject to a charge. And am I right in saying this charge will be £250 if paid within 14 days for entering the zone.

Maybe I am reading it all wrong (didn't sleep last night) but it seems to me that if you live within the zone and only a 2001 Land Rover Disco Diesel, that you are going to have to sell it pretty soon...

probably is just you? it's been on here enough and all over the web, on TV, the radio, leaflets with tax reminders ect, next you'll be telling us you don't know about the new constant insurance legislation ???

As far as i know it's only commercilal 4X4s not the normal ones try the LEZ website, there a checker you can put your reg into

Check the reg in the link that you posted.....

...or failing that, my own 2001 Land Rover Disco Diesel is not subject to LEZ so I doubt yours is.

Good. The amount of L200 driving dicks in south-west London is astonishing*.

• Of course, not everyone who drives an L200 or similar pick-up in a built-up, urban area is a dick, just a disproportionately large number, from my experience.
