High Pitch sound when accelerating

Hi -
I just got my 1st Caterham 7

When I accelerate there is a high pitch sound - only when accelerating

any ideas ?

Might be you can hear air being sucked into the carbs, Bear in mind that compared to a normal car you are very much more exposed to the oily bits, so can hear and feel a lot more of the mechanical gubbins going on. Also caterhams are not that aerodynamic, so you might be picking up on whistles caused by airflow etc

I've never driven a caterham by the way, just extrapolating form my morgan experiences

thank the guy i bought it from said it was the carbs and that they all made that sounds - it's pretty loud though..

Any high pitched sound I get when accelerating usually comes from the passenger seat.
