Never entering a roundabout...

at the same time as a whitevan man ever again! Well not just vans, just being cautious in general just now.
In the past 2 days I've been cut off a grand total of 4 times, 3xVan 1xrepmobile and thats only a 17 mile trip each was twice.
The situation - driving side by side with a van entering a roundabout on D/C at the same time, I'm on the inside lane and he's the outside, as soon as we enter I see that he's drifting into my "lane" as if there wasn't a roundabout there and its just a straight bit of road. Results in me having to slam on my brakes to avoid going into the side of the van, airing my horn to let them know I'm there, and thanking God there wasnt anyone driving closely behind me.
After the 4th time in 2 days I've decided, I am no longer going to enter a roundabout in the inside lane on the D/C.
Now I know I could have been at a blind spot of the van, but regardless, in a busyish time of the day you should really keep to lane discipline... I know my cars quite small, and someone less observant can have difficulties seeing it, but I always drive with sidelights on, just so other motorists are aware.

Either hang right back so when they inevitably straightline the roundabout they don't clobber you, or make sure you're half a car length in front of them so you can "shepherd" them around the roundabout and they have to stay in lane.
I did hang back for 3/4 times it happened in the past two days, hence I'm not posting a "Bloody WVM not admitting liabilty my insurance is going to saur" thread.Just really got caught off guard the first time, was expecting myself to enter the roundabout faster, but the van just floored it. :/ What really grinds my gear is when they dont apologize for their mistake. Not once did I get a courtious wave to symbolize "sorry" of any shape or form. If they did that I wouldnt be so pee'd off about it. We all make mistakes at one point or another, we're only human.
That constantly happens to me, whether I'm on the bike or in the car. I know they're going to do it, it's obvious, so I place myself close enough for it to look *really* close but nowhere near dangerous and then lean on the horn when they cut across. I'd say that 75% of the time they are not aware that I'm there, (judging from the knee jerk reaction and sudden direction change), and the other 25% either flick the middle finger or the Vs at me. No one ever says sorry 
I have to approach a roundabout every morning on the way to work, where i work is in an industrial estate which is the 2nd exit off the roundabout.. said industrial estate is busy so often maybe a line of 10-15 cars waiting in the left hand lane(which is to be used for the first two exits) it gives me great joy every morning to just get ahead of a guy in the right lane and to make them slow down and have to stop until someone lets them in to the correct lane... now i'm not a bad person, but i dont like sneaks !!
I avoid entering any roundabout side by side with another vehicle unless I really can't help it. If I do its with extreme caution.
Learnt my lesson when I was 19 when a cretin in a CRV decided to go right from the left hand lane with no indication as I went straight over in the right hand lane! We met in the middle.

Yeah, but if you enter a roundabout in the outside lane the person inside you will drive 'straight' through the roundabout, i.e. go through lanes 1-2-1, so still cut you up.However you drive, you'll encounter idiots. You need to be one step ahead of them.
Or take the bus.

I just make sure I'm never alongside anybody (especially vans and lorries), either hang back or hoof it past them. You can generally spot the incompetants by their driving style beforehand anyway.
Same here, and always indicate. There's a tricky one I use every day on my commute, where I need to be in the outside lane to take the second exit. I always indicate right as I'm entering so people don't assume I'll be taking the first exit off. Still hasn't prevented a few near misses, but I watch approaching cars carefully and am ready to slam on the anchorsV8mate said:

I'm usually quite good for expecting the unexpected, but IDK why, these few days I've been caught out far more than I want to.
I'm also of the belief that it's best to make it look worse than it is to hopefully shake them up and maybe they'll learn for next time. Also do this sometimes when people pull out in front of me or a personal favourite is when you're 'making progress' on a NSL road and someone pulls out in front of you however there is enough visibility for me to just floor it and overtake straight past them. Might be rose-tinted spectacles but I'm sure people used to apologise, even just a raise of the hand, if they did something stupid, now the default reaction seems to be one of 'whats your problem?' or worse still 'f

Two lanes come off the rounadbout, everyone in lane one cuts off lane two in this case, the turn is quite the chicane. Happens every single day
to the extent you learn to avoid it.
Something I have witnessed a lot recently is fktards approaching the roundabout in the left lane and then going around to the right, despite signs showing the left lane is for left turns only 
Driving standards have been deteriorating for quite some time though, and I think that replacing traffic police with speed cameras is a major reason.
