Funny little car...

Spotted this on my way home. The badges on front and back said Nash, and Metropolitan on the side. I thought it was one of those amphibious cars but now i'm not so sure.

it's an austin/nash depending on which side of the atlantic you're on. came in 3 2 tone colour schemes iirc and was an attempt at mimicking american streamlining car design.

another one to look a is the atlantic, has a curved rear middle window which winds down. very glam looking thing.

A Metropolitan, looks like a later model, 1500 version.

A late 1950's - very much a girls - car, based on Austin underpinnings but never badged as such.

Initally designed for export only, later sold here, but over 90% were exported.

isnt it a type of micro car, goodwood had a track parade of them a few years ago, i remember one looking very similar to that.

It was late sixties, I'll have you know. But yes, 'twas fun, just didn't seem to like the twisties too much.
