Ok we all here about road rage, but how many of you on here have been subjected to pedestrian rage.

I was driving my car at 25mph yesterday and drove through a couple of small town centres, and was surprised by a couple of hand signals and comments I received from a pedestrian and persons sitting outside a pub. I had my window down slightly and could hear, one guy was actually very very angry and you could see the seething temper he was in while calling me a w**k*r.
It's a shame that just because you work hard to buy the car you want that you should be subjected to this.

If you go waving your willy in public, don't be surprised if people point and laugh.

Speak for yourself. Or if you're a bit more well endowed..

I usually get pedestrian rage after I've clipped them with my wing mirror, just after they have looked at me and crossed the road anyway.

Used to get this in a DB7, I've always put it down to jealousy more than anything frown

Funnyily enough, it doesn't happen in the XKR. Presumably people just think its another Jag..

I was in London driving my MGB GT. At a set of traffic lights (A406 North Circular) a bunch of people started shouting and pointing at my car so I waved politely. The next thing I know a beer car landed in the middle of my bonnet and someone had jumped the fence and was running towards me. I got out of to find out what the problem was. The fence jumper was shouting...

"You racist Natzi ccensoredt!" So naturally I asked him what he was on about. He pointed at the union jack painted on my bonnet by my nephews and suggested I was trying to incite racial hatred. By this time quite a crowd had gathered by the fence and a black girl drove past in her BMW Mini with a Union Jack on the roof. I said what about her and suggested that he was looking for a fight he should try shoes with laces. This made the crowd laugh at him so I got back in my car and drove off.

Brave man getting out of the car!

Bit like that scene in the Dukes of Hazard where they don't know the roof has been painted lol

There are some total burks though who will do anything to pick a fight.

I was once a pedestrian being raged at however, while at uni a post van drove straight at a group of us 'student' crossing a side road (we were crossing before he indicated to turn) this was coupled with angry verbal threats.

Not the smartest move when you're representing your employer and it's obvious to all who that employer is.

I'm so glad it's the "Post Office" and not "Royal Mail" any more because punching a postman used to be an act of treason. hehe

The way some (most) of them drive going "Postal" is a daily occurance.

(I think it stands out a bit as a really nice car), this is why I found it unusual, as usually people have very positive comments to make about the car.

It was obviously a bad end of town I drove into, on a day when I had the misfortune to pass a couple of idiots.

I knew a supercar deal who told me how he had things throw, shout and spit at him when he had a Ferrari or Lamborghini. However he never once had a negative comment when driving a Maserati

It was a beautiful day yesterday and with the sun shining I decided to take me and Mrs 13 out for lunch to the pub. When I pulled into the the car park in the MX-5 a chap came over and asked if I would cut his hair, as it was getting too long.

I explained to him that I was actually an engineer and had nothing at all to do with the hairdressing industry, and in fact never even visited hairdressing establishments as my wife cuts my hair. He became quite aggressive and asked why, if I wasn't a hairdresser why was I driving a hairdressers car ? He then proceeded to try and tell me where he'd been on Holiday.

Not being a hairdresser or a 6ft cage fighter with a gotee I backed away slowly with the mrs and we managed to make it into the pub and out this nutters way. I may trade the 5 in for an Alfa so I can be a real petrol head and not be exposed to these sweeping generalisations based on simple personality traits. wink

Ahh... Easter and Christmas, when all the twice a year drinkers come out to play and prove to the rest of the world just how hard they are.

Drunk bloke is probably bitter because his Mrs, 5 kids and council house lifestyle means he is rocking a bus pass and on htis one, and only day out of the year a verbal attack on you has enabled him to make it through another 12months without slashing his wrists. So good on you, you've made an idiot a happy (well less suicidal) man. lol

I'm off next week and the wife and I were thinking about lunch and a few drinks in town, but remembering it is the wedding bank holiday we have decided to give it a miss.

I can honestly say I have only once had the hairdresser comment about my '5 and it was from an inbred halfwit who drives a T reg 1.4 Focus which makes his opinion invalid anyway.

good handling of the situation, but it'd have been funnier if you'd have agreed to his request, sat him down and chopped it about unevenly, then driven to a different pub - quickly.....

What - the... presumably he was very drunk? Or just a knob all the time?

Afterthought 1: I don't really understand their mentality. If I'm in Tesco and a man or woman parks their MX5 in the car park with the roof down, I have to resist the temptation to say, "Great weather for it!" (maybe, it's because I drive something even more hairdressery).

Afterthought 2: When he asked if you'd do his hair, you should have said, "Sure, just get me a pair of scissors; I'll happily cut your hair." before proceeding to ruin his hair. "Oh, I'm an engineer not a hairdresser; you asked me to cut your hair, so I did." I mean, if someone wants me to cut their hair, I'll happily have a go... how hard can it be? evil
