Hamster & RS6 in Alps - where's the dam?

I'm planning an Alps trip and thought it might be a laugh to try and find the dam the Hamster parks the RS6 on in this video

Can I reccomend going to this one too, it's in the opening scenes of Goldeneye. I felt rather queasy looking down.

Yeh, I did have a look when I got back. They've got an wine cellar with place to lounge about and drink. I think they even do something for Christmas.
I can only picture Blofeld sitting in there with his cat.
That was the view the next day on the way back, that was the damn, and it was fairly eerie driving knowing that there was all that water and that hotel but nothing in sight. I didn't have it in me to walk the dam to the hotel, not being able to see it from the start.

If you are heading for the Grimsel from the North then a couple of other ports of call would be Meiringen where you will find the Reichenbach falls, and the Aareschlucht,
and a little further on towards the Grimsel there is an Hydro dam that is reached via a funicular railway with a gradient of 106 deg ie beyond vertical!:
If you head up the Furka after the Grimsel half-way up the SW step then you will find the Belvedere hotel (think Goldfinger) and you can park up and walk down onto, and into the Glacier.

PS hope you get better weather than we did the last time, crossed the Grimsel in a white out and a foot of snow behind the blowers in a MX5
That was in June btw, better weather when we made the furka though, this is looking back from the Belvedere, the Grimsel is in the top center/right.

That railway
The railway is great, just don't have any loose possessions/ glasses / cameras on straps just hanging from your neck. When you get to the top you can walk on the dam wall, that picture was taken looking through the dam wall. Taken from the path around the edge, allow a couple of hours walking time!That railway
If you want to go play on a glacier then make your way over the Grossglokner, great road and it is possible to walk over the top of the glacier and down into the next valley;
The Grossglockner was too far over for us that time around, fairly expensive to cross?
I've skied the Kaprun glacier nearby, would love to see one in the height of summer. Will have to stomach that railway for those pictures, great photography.

about £25 but that includes parking. Because the road closes overnight, arriving at opening time ensures no traffic in the opposite direction 
Just watch out for black ice early and late in the season. The lift down to the Glacier is quite expensive and as never been extended, as the glacier as shrunk there is a steep and arduos trek to the base (and back up) it is also expensive for what it is. If you take the tunnels from the visitor center it leads you along a ledge above the glacier for a couple of mile till it meets the top of the glacier (they clear the path with a baby tractor, but can be quite hairy) you then get the chance to traverse the top of the glacier and down the other side (pic above of dirty dusty bowl)
