Awful awful awful.
I thought Ferrari had plumbed the deepest depths of brand whoring but really!
Considering it's a Toyota iQ with an Aston grille on it, it looks exactly like..... a Toyota iQ with an Aston Grille on it. Must have taken nearly a whole weekend to create.

They've had to do it to meet Euro average emissions legislation.

Ferrari are OK, as they're part of the Fiat Group, and I think Porsche may get away with it through VW connections - although the hybrids and diesels will help.

At first I hated them, but I can sort of see the point now (aside from the emmisions). They're a really nice place to sit, and I wouldn't want to be driving a proper Aston sat in traffic in a city, with single figure MPG and difficulty to park. If they based it on something slightly bigger, like VW Polo size, I would definitely have one as a day to day run around.

I know why they've done it but it doesn't make any less dreadful.

I have absolutely no interest in this car so I haven't been following any threads about it, but am I right in thinking that this is a good example of how moronic all this emissions crap is?

I mean, if they have been forced into building an economical car to be 'green', surely the only way to be green is to not produce this car in the first place?

Its not as if there's millions of Astons on the road either, so what difference does it make?

I love Astons.

My sister was in the market for something premium, small and quite expensive-ish.

I told her about this, she said 'arent they £100k, i was thinking more like £30k'. I told her they were a lot cheaper as they were Toyota IQ sized and she just laughed, never mentioned it again, and bought a well spec'd Audi A1 for a lot cheaper than the £30k she'd mentioned.

I think Aston have some serious marketing to do!

(and i bet there's one owned by someone on Emmerdale soon - car-placement branding gone mad that programme!)
