I'm off to the Nurburgring on the 14th of May..

My insurance is up for renewal on the 10th of May.. I've heard you're supposed to take it all with you, including registration document too? So, what if my documents don't get here in time. Will it cause a problem at all? Is the only reason people suggest taking them is incase you're stopped by the French Police?

Carrying documentation isn't just about the French.

The German coppers are required to take a very dim view
of foreigners with missing documentation.

While some Brit coppers may be suseptable to reason
and common sense, German coppers will always do
things by the book, so even if you've got enough of
their language to argue with them, you'll be wasting
your time and probably increasing the size
of the fine you'll be getting at the same time.

They do have the power to put you in a cell until matters
are sorted to their satisfaction.

Make sure all your paperwork is in 100% immaculate
order and carry duplicates to make sure.
